Destiny Plays Its Role Too

By Anuj Chugh

What is not destined to be yours, will never be yours, no matter how much you run, chase, try, and put your efforts, struggle, hard work, ideas into and no matter how much blood, sweat and tears you expend in the process.

I really have years and years of bitter experience of this truth, but nevertheless constantly try I must.

You can read a 1000 page book/manual, complete all the prescribed exercises and tests, solve all the problems and numericals, follow all the instructions, do all your homework and still not win...

You can be totally caught unprepared and still win...

Welcome to a thing called dumb luck... What we call destiny...

The only satisfactory explanation I could ever find after much deliberation was that those things were not meant to be mine and that those things were not destined to be mine.

Yet at the same time it is also true that 'If you do not try, you will never know what's yours.'

On the other hand, occurred rarely in life with me but did happen and occur at times that a few things just magically fell into my laps. I understand that this is not anything miraculous or magical. As if it were not for the trials and tribulations I faced earlier...

Your mind is constantly running and working to solve your problems so it definitely comes up with some idea / breakthrough at the right time provided you are in a receptive state, i.e. truly dedicated and sincere to your cause. In that state only are you able to perceive and take advantage of opportunities as they arise.

It has been rightly said that :-

"Luck favors the trained mind," "You need darkness to appreciate the light," "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard." And also "Life is difficult" and "Life is unfair." And that "World absolutely owes you nothing no matter how smart, how intelligent, how good looking, how ethical, how good, how sincere and how dedicated you really are." And also that "We should be kind to each and everyone as in good spirit, everyone is struggling and fighting battles of which we know nothing about."

The only real challenge then is the challenge of figuring out your way for yourself in this jungle of life as sadly, the above is all true and at the same time which many times, leads to lots of over-thinking and confusion.

For an author-philosopher, speaker and a writer like me, to accept and say something like that must amount to something...

However, the sorry and pitiful states are to be avoided at all costs. Take absolute responsibility for your own life and at all times...

You are stronger than you think you are...

In this case, the best thing to ever know and remember is that doing something is always better than doing nothing, which carries a real risk and also a threat to our mental, emotional and physical health.
