God - Does He or She Really Exist? Or is it Just a Belief in Our Head

By Anuj Chugh

Recently while browsing a book I landed up on a page in which a rape victim asked a profound question that would challenge our faith in 'God'. She asked it simply 'Where was God when I was getting raped?'

Now that's a sorrowful question, questioning life, your soul, your creator, your God itself if anyone has gone through something similar.

My answer to her is " In our tendency to believe that we are the children of our Creator, we actually make ourselves too small. We are not. We are evolving beings who might one day reach the level of our Creator. And you know what, the Creator wants us to become as such. That's why he doesn't participate in our lives and rescue us. He wants us to get hurt bad, he wants us to cry, he wants us to feel the pain, but most important of all - he wants us to rise and fight, fight again our most fierce and most fearsome fight ever, better than ever, wiser than ever. In a way, we are not children of God, and we need not look up to God to protect us. And we are neither Gods nor made in the image of God.

We are in fact better than that in our capacity and in our ability to go through so much pain and still survive, to carry forward and extract our best revenge from life. All that we can extract, in all that we can be and in all that we can do, in all the positions that we can rise. We are built strong, we have infinite innate potential, we are meant to fall again and again and we are meant rise higher and higher again. We are made to be a power, we are made to be a force in this world to touch everyone's lives through our example or through our skills, abilities or talents in short all gifts that nature has provided, to the extent of all your muscles than we can stretch - physical, mental andotherwise, i.e spiritual. Muscles that we don't even know exist. Energy centres that we don't even know exist.

And how is all this possible? To face all the hell. It is an irony of life that unless we feel hell, we don't feel any motivitation or need to change, to be a revolutionary. Hence it is said to the effect that, you will not be strong unless being strong is the only option that you have. You extract power from your very Source and you need not look up to somebody or even God to protect you. You are enough by yourself. Just stretch every muscle, brain muscle, body muscle, know how, will to do and willingness to do in short, your zeal and zest for life and you will be doing good. Get out of the situations with which you are comfortable but which no longer serve you...

Remember that there's no meaning in life except the meaning we ourselves choose to bring into life through our wisdom, knowledge, evolution, learning and progressive thinking. "There's no basis for all this" you may ask some days when you are feeling blue, dark, lonely and depressed. It is correct there is no basis for all this until you 'participate' in this game of life, until you 'play' this game called life. When you muster the courage to 'participate', to 'play' soon you will find your basis. Again the reason to carry on like this is you, within you. Until your very last breath, until your very last fight, until you die that is. So live and each and every day of your life to the fullest that you can not even 'think' that you can manage until your very end. The tendency of every human is to search outward, is look outward for their answers until they somehow find all their answers within. That is why it is said, "A wise man does at once what the fool does at last."

The sad part is there is no 'pause' button to life. We can rest, we can choose to rest, but we can never give, we can never delay. In our 'choice' to give up or delay, the problem remains and only gets worse. It starts killing you. That's why it is said participate, play, don't hold back anything, go out do it even if you don't 'feel' like it, things are sure to get better and you are sure to 'feel' better. Success is the best revenge!
